70 DAYS SINCE LEAVING CON ORBIT (NOVEMBER 25, 2012): The rough numbers are in from Alpha: 2012 A Space: 1999 Event. While we won't know the exact number until the final expenses are in, it looks as though the donation to charity will be at least $12,000.00. We will announce the final donation once all the remaining bills are paid and once the post con report goes out. The donation will be split evenly between MS and Animal Friends. Space: 1999 fans are the most generous fans on any planet. Our huge thanks also to Prentis Hancock for his kind donation to Animal Friends. 21 DAYS SINCE LEAVING CON ORBIT (OCTOBER 6, 2012): The audio piece ("Koenig's Lament") playing as the ballroom opened on September 14, 2012 is now downloadable as an MP3 by clicking here. The file is a .zip file which you will need to "un-Zip" to get the MP3.

12 DAYS SINCE LEAVING CON ORBIT (SEPTEMBER 28, 2012): A huge thank you to all who attended con. By all on-line reports, it sounds like everyone had a marvelous tim. We especially want to thank our stars for always being there for us: Barbara Bain, Prentis Hancock, Anton Phillips, Nick Tate, Christopher Penfold, Judy Geeson and Martin Landau (who, despite the announcement below, showed up on Saturday to surprise us any way.) And a thank you to the fan who attended or supported us!

Some basic stuff: (1) The con-com will be meeting in 2 weeks to tie up loose ends, make sure all the bills have been paid and assess where we are financially; (2) There will be a donation to the charities but we won't know a ball-park figure until after the bills are paid and accounted for...we may be able to announce a rough figure after the the con-com meeting, but a final an exact amount of the donation will take a little longer; and (3) plans are under way for the post-con report...there is nothing firm yet, so there's nothing to tell. But I can tell you that delivery of the post-con is months away at the earliest as there is much work to be done, including editing, correcting and making sure we have the budget to do it the way we want to.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: 9/12/2012 - 8pm: We've been at the hotel getting ready and just now got to a computer to post this. About 4 hours ago Martin Landau cancelled, his representative stating that "his promotional schedule for Frankenweenie is so heavy" that he must cancel. Apologies one and all but beyond our control.

(1) Snail mail ticket sales have been suspended. All ticket sales must be made via paypal through 9/9/2012. After 9/9/2012, Paypal sales will be suspended and tickets (or upgrades of non-attending memberships) will only be available at the door. (2) The Dealers' Room is now at capacity. Roy has booked a job which will, unfortunately, keep him working in Europe through November and therefore unable to attend the convention. Today, ITV Studios, owner of the Space: 1999 franchise, announced that it has authorized HD Films, Inc., to develop a reimaging of the series entitled Space: 2099. Jace Hall, president of HDFILMS, INC, will serve as 2099's Executive Producer and creative lead. Stay tuned for more news.

4454 DAYS SINCE LEAVING EARTH ORBIT (NOVEMBER 22, 2011): The Con-com is very excited to announce that Mr. Roy Dotrice (Commissioner Gerald Simmonds from "Breakaway" and "Earthbound") has tentatively accepted our invitation to attend Alpha: 2012 (subject to his availability). This marks Mr. Dotrice's first appearance at a U.S. Space: 1999 convention (and may be his very first Space: 1999 con appearance).

4449 DAYS SINCE LEAVING EARTH ORBIT (NOVEMBER 17, 2011): The Con-com is excited to report that Ms. Judy Geeson (Regina Kesslann-Carter from "Another Time, Another Place") has tentatively accepted our invitation to attend Alpha: 2012 (subject to her availability). This will mark the first appearance of Ms. Geeson at a Space: 1999 convention.

4416 DAYS SINCE LEAVING EARTH ORBIT (OCTOBER 15, 2011):  The Con-Com had a productive meeting today and the website will be updated periodically throughout the week. First and foremost, we have decided that the Charity Auction at Alpha: 2012 will be for the benefit of Multiple Sclerosis, a disorder which affects over 2.5 million people worldwide, including a number of Space: 1999 fans. Look for a Charity Auction section (including items donated to date) to be added to the website shortly.

We have also taken the state of the economy into consideration and revised our con ticket prices. Check out the Registration page for changes.

We have many updates about the hotel, room reservations, and our Dealer's Room. Watch for website updates within the week.

Registration and Opening Ceremonies times have been set and can be found on the Duty Roster.

The first star invites have gone out. We're aiming for an interesting mix of our regulars as well as a number of people who have never appeared at a Space: 1999 convention. Please keep in mind that we are still a year away from the con and it may take a considerable period of time before we get responses from the stars. But as soon as we know, we'll let you know.

4363 DAYS SINCE LEAVING EARTH ORBIT (AUGUST 23, 2011):  Good morning fellow Alphans. We are happy to announce that Alpha: 2012 is a reality!! We have decided on a date change. Alpha: 2012 will now take place on September 14 through 16, 2012. We're also in the process of finalizing hotel plans and will let you know more as soon as we know.

Our goal is still a Breakaway-sized event. However, advance pre-registrations to date made us realize that, ultimately, Alpha: 2012 may be smaller than we originally envisioned. Of course, if attendence goes up, so will our plans. Help us spread the word to other Alphans so that we can make Alpha: 2012 bigger, better and more exciting than ever!

4284 DAYS SINCE LEAVING EARTH ORBIT (JUNE 5, 2011):  As of May 31, we have sold 60 out of the 100 memberships we were hoping to sell. The committee will meet once again in early August to decide whether or not to proceed with this event. If you have not already registered, please help this event become a reality by registering no later than July 31. We realize the economy is bad everywhere and so, with this in mind, we are extending the special $99 attending membership thru July 31. A supporting (non-attending) membership – which can be converted to an attending membership at any time – is also available for $50. Your money will be refunded if the event is canceled.

4220 DAYS SINCE LEAVING EARTH ORBIT (APRIL 2, 2011):  We are pleased to announce that the California-based committee members who brought you BREAKAWAY in 1999 are in the planning stages of a new Space:1999 convention, ALPHA: 2012. We anticipate holding the convention in Los Angeles on Sept. 7, 8 & 9 2012 [NOTE: DATED HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 9/14 - 9/16/2012] . But before we proceed, we need to assess fan interest and collect seed money.
